SkySafari Pro v1.1.2 apk

SkySafari Pro v1.1.2
SkySafari Pro v1.1.2 apk
Requirements: Android 2.2+
Overview: SkySafari Pro has the largest database of any astronomy app, period.
SkySafari Pro v1.1.2
It weighs in at half a gig, and contains over 15.3 million stars from the Hubble Guide Star catalog, plus 740,000 galaxies down to 18th magnitude, and over 550,000 solar system objects – including every comet and asteroid ever discovered. Yet it runs just as fast and smoothly as our basic version.
SkySafari Pro can point your GoTo or “Push-To” telescope anywhere in the sky, using your Android device’s built-in WiFi or bluetooth, and our SkyFi wireless or Starry Night BlueStar bluetooth serial adapter.
SkySafari Pro accurately shows you the sky from any place on Earth, at any time up to 100 years in the past or future. It includes 1100 encyclopedic descriptions of the constellations, stars, and planets written by professional astronomers. And it contains over 800 images from NASA space missions, the Hubble Space Telescope, and the world’s foremost astro-photographers.
If you have an Android device with a compass, SkySafari Pro can help you identify stars and planets by holding your phone next to them. Tap the Compass button (or tilt your phone up toward the sky) to activate the compass. Now, as you move the phone around, the sky chart follows your motion. Search for any object in the sky, and follow the arrow on screen to find it!
SkySafari has a “Night” button to preserve your dark adaptation as you’re exploring the night sky. The Time Flow feature lets you animate the night sky using simple VCR controls – follow the motion of the stars and planets as SkySafari compresses days, months, and years into a few seconds.
SkySafari Pro’s streamlined user interface puts the universe at your fingertips – and turns your Android into a 21st-century telescope controller. SkySafari is your celestial travel guide!
Why should you pay for SkySafari when Google SkyMap is free?
SkySafari Pro v1.1.2
For starters, even the basic version of SkySafari includes ten times more star data than Google SkyMap. Our deep sky database contains thousands of NGC/IC objects, not just the 110-object Messier catalog. Our Pro version contains 550,000 solar system objects – including every known moon, asteroid, and comet in the solar system – not just the Sun, Moon, and nine planets (we’re sentimentally still counting Pluto!)
Our apps contain hundreds of built-in images, and include thousands of object descriptions, written by professional astronomers. Google SkyMap gives you Wikipedia links – which don’t do you much good when you’re out in the field, away from Wi-Fi or data network connections.
Our Plus and Pro versions can control telescopes; Google SkyMap cannot. Google SkyMap cannot reproduce basic astronomical phenomena like lunar eclipses and Jovian satellite shadow transits. Our apps, by contrast, were developed by passionate astronomers with a penchant for quality and accuracy. We make a living from our products, and we stand by them.
What’s in this version:
SkySafari Pro v1.1.2 apk
- The chart now has “momentum” when you swipe it. The chart now performs animated panning to the selected object when you center it (instead of jumping there). This smoother and cooler experience can be disabled in the Appearance settings.
- When you select an object, SkySafari now shows its brief description in the status bar. You can show this again, later, by tapping the middle of the status bar.
- The backlit hardware buttons are now totally turned off when SkySafari is in night vision mode. Previously they were reduced to 25% intensity.
- Added request to “Rate SkySafari” on Google Play after the app has been run five times.
- In Plus and Pro, implemented Popup control panels to let you quickly change the coordinates and field of view. Access these panels by tapping the coordinates and field of view displayed in the upper left and right corners of the chart.
- In Plus and Pro, you can now select whether you want to use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to connect to a telescope.
- In Plus and Pro, in the Telescope Display settings, added missing option to show cardinal directions on the telescope field of view indicator.
- In Plus and Pro, when connecting to a telescope, the app automatically switches to using current time, and ignores the “Tilt to Use Compass” feature. Fixed bug where the telescope’s position was not being updated to correctly account for sidereal rotation of the sky.
- In Plus and Pro, prevents crash caused by leaving the Solar System Settings while a minor body orbit update is in progress.
- SkySafari now asks if you want to use or delete a user-defined location when you select one.
- Magnitude limits now set correctly when using the slider in the Coordinates (or Field of View) settings.
- Zoom + and – buttons are no longer displayed if the settings specify they should be hidden.
- Scope coordinate labels in the scope control panel now match what is specified in Settings > Scope Display.
- Coordinates and field of view are no longer displayed in the sky chart while the compass is on, if they are turned off in the settings.
- SkySafari now correctly checks whether the SD card is mounted when the app starts up.
- Fixed potential crash after the initial data download completes.
